Description

The Red Line Engine Oil Break-In Additive (ref. 81403) is formulated to supplement conventional motor oils with critical antiwear additives — zinc and phosphorus (ZDDP) — needed to protect camshaft and valvetrain components during engine break-in. It allows piston rings to seat properly using a less slick oil film, while protecting other engine components from excessive wear. One 16 oz bottle treats up to 12 quarts of motor oil; in many cases, a single bottle can serve two engines or oil changes. It can also be used in conventional and synthetic oils during regular operation for an additional protection package. Reformulated with special detergents and polyol ester base stocks for improved film strength and stability.
