MSD Ignition – Distributor Gear Iron Ford 351W (Windsor)

Description

The MSD Distributor Gear #85852 is designed for Ford 351W (Windsor) V8 5.8L engines. Manufactured from proprietary formulated ductile iron with Melonite QPQ coating to reduce friction and initial wear. The increased outer hardened layer thickness (RC55-60) ensures long service life. Micro polished surface ensures smooth contact. Interstitial carbide concentration improves running properties. MSD tests its gears on a test fixture with variable RPM and oil pressure control, up to 10,000 RPM under severe loads.
