EXEDY – Racing Lightweight Flywheel
Description
The EXEDY HF501 racing flywheel is machined from chromoly steel, a far stronger material than the factory cast iron, for Honda D-series 1.5L to 1.7L engines. Reduced mass lowers rotating inertia, so the engine picks up and drops revs much faster, making heel-toe downshifts easier and shifts crisper.
On a small, low-torque engine, lightening the flywheel is one of the best value modifications in terms of how the car feels to drive. The trade-off is that hill starts require a little more attention. SFI 1.1 certified. Fits the Honda Civic, Del Sol and CRX.
