Hedman Hedders BLACK MAXX series headers (SKU 63601) are mid-length headers featuring a satin black ceramic-metallic coating, designed for Chevrolet SB Chevy 283-400 vehicles equipped with the A.I.R. (Air Injection Reaction) system. The standard-duty mild steel construction delivers remarkable durability, while the BLACK MAXX ceramic-metallic coating protects against heat and corrosion while providing an aggressive finish. The 1-5/8 in. primary tubes and 3 in. ball & socket collector (no gasket required) enable optimal exhaust gas scavenging, generating more power in the low and mid-range RPM than stock cast manifolds. The mid-length design provides better ground clearance and component compatibility than long tube headers. Sold as a pair with all required hardware, gaskets, and reducers. Power steering compatible. 50-state legal (except California and pollution-controlled vehicles). Made in the USA since 1954 by Hedman Hedders.
