Description

Hedman Hedders has been manufacturing high-performance exhaust headers in the USA since 1954. These full-length long-tube headers in 1-5/8 in. (SKU 68290) are designed for Chevrolet A-Body vehicles equipped with a Small Block 283-400 engine. Built from mild steel with smooth-flowing CNC mandrel-bent tubes, hand-welded for consistency, they promote optimal exhaust scavenging to maximize horsepower and torque. The unique gasketless ball and socket collector design allows bolt-on installation even with slight exhaust system misalignment. These headers ship uncoated with a temporary black paint that will burn off at normal operating temperatures. Each set includes gaskets, flange bolts and collector bolts, along with ball and socket reducers for a complete installation. The full-length design optimizes exhaust extraction across the entire RPM range, delivering noticeable gains in power and torque over stock manifolds. Compatible with automatic (column and floor) and manual (floor) transmissions. Without A.I.R. and without EGR.
