This S400 SX-E is an upgraded version of BorgWarner's 171702 turbocharger! Introducing SX-E high-performance journal bearing turbochargers and supercores from BorgWarner's AirWerks series! AirWerks products utilize journal bearing systems with Inconel 713C turbine wheels which are a great match for performance gasoline and diesel engines. The "E" within the product name denotes the enhanced features and characteristics (vs. SX) which include the upgraded aluminum Forged Milled Compressor Wheel which BorgWarner coined as FMW technology. Some competitors offer billet compressor wheels, but BorgWarner raised the industry standard by using a forging which is stronger than billet and cast aluminum. SX-E is proudly Made in USA at BorgWarner's factory located in Arden, NC!

This unit bumps the compressor wheel inducer size from 74.5mm to 76mm! In comparison to the stock cast aluminum wheel on the 171702, the FMW improves resistance to failure when compared to billet and cast. This turbo also adds 15 points of additional map width and a larger efficiency island! The 14969880029 comes from the factory paired with a 1.32 A/R divided turbine inlet which has a 5.75 marmon connection. This S400 SX-E is sized just right for single turbo applications making 550 HP to 1,200 HP or 1,100 HP to 2,400 HP in twin turbo configurations (gas engines)! SX-E offers great value and performance without sacrificing quality!

Important Notes

• Turbine housings are sold separately and above requires external wastegate which are not included.
• Need to make a repair? View core assemblies, just the cartridge, which can be purchased for quick repairs.  This is the best method to make a repair as they come pre-balanced with new wheels which avoids the need for special rebuild tools (check that your end-housings are reusable).
